# Desktop app

> Keep your review queue in the menu bar with the cubic desktop app.

The cubic desktop app puts your review queue in the menu bar or system tray, one click away from any
app. It also sends a notification when cubic finds issues on one of your PRs. Reviews work the same
as in the browser, with grouped changes, AI chat, and GitHub sync.

## Download

Download the app at [cubic.dev/download](https://www.cubic.dev/download). Choose the version for
your computer:

* **macOS:** Apple Silicon or Intel.
* **Windows:** x64 installer.
* **Linux:** AppImage.

Open the app and sign in with your GitHub account.

## Check your inbox from the menu bar

On macOS and Windows, click the cubic icon in the menu bar or system tray. It shows the top of
your [inbox](/code-review-platform/dashboard): **Needs you** and **Ready to merge**, then
**Waiting on others**, which starts collapsed. Hover a PR that waits on your review and select
**Approve**, or hover a PR that's ready to merge and select **Merge**. Click a PR to open it in the
app.

The app icon shows how many PRs are in **Needs you** and **Ready to merge**.

## Get notified about your PRs

The app shows a notification when one of your PRs needs you:

* cubic found issues on it. If [auto-fix](/ai-review/auto-fix) is on for that PR, auto-fix handles
the issues instead, and the app doesn't notify you.
* CI failed on its latest commit.
* It has a merge conflict, including one caused by another PR merging into its base branch.
* It's ready to merge: approved, checks passing, and GitHub allows the merge. Drafts don't get
  this notification.

If the app shows you a notification while you're at your computer, cubic doesn't send the matching
Slack DM. Notifications sent while your computer slept or the app was offline appear when it
reconnects, as one summary when there are more than three.

## Open the command bar from any app

Press `Control + Option + C` on macOS or `Control + Alt + C` on Windows and Linux to bring the app
forward with the [command bar](/code-review-platform/command-bar) open. If your clipboard holds a
PR link, that PR is the first result.

## Open a PR from the browser

After you sign in to the app, PR and inbox links that you open in your browser offer to open in the
app. Once one opens there, choose **Always open links in the app** to skip the offer next time.

On a PR in cubic, you can also choose **Open in Desktop** from the PR actions menu (**⋯**) to
continue in the app.

See [Review a pull request](/code-review-platform/reviewing-prs) for the full workflow.
[Keyboard shortcuts](/code-review-platform/command-bar) covers navigation.
